How did you feel when you heard that you were successful in being awarded the scholarship?
I flew to my scholarship interview, and I had to take a return flight only a few short hours later. I was sitting on the plane waiting to take off, and I received a phone call saying I had won the scholarship! It was an odd experience to find out alone, because so many people had supported and encouraged me throughout the whole process. So when I found out that I won the scholarship, I was overcome with gratitude and excitement! All I wanted to do was call my family and professors, but I had to go up in the air!
What made you choose to study at ¾«¶«Ó°Òµand your course?
I chose Sheffield, because the Additive Manufacturing research here is incredible. I kept reading amazing papers on Additive Manufacturing by the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, and I wanted to join the research community here. I was also amazed by the support that the University had for international students. I visited ¾«¶«Ó°Òµaround Christmas time, and with only one day’s notice they set me up on a tour with a current international postgraduate student. I definitely felt welcomed from my very first visit!
What are the highlights of your experience in ¾«¶«Ó°Òµso far?
So far my highlights have been exploring the Peak District, meeting new people and beginning my coursework in additive manufacturing!
What would you say to a student considering studying at the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ?
I would say that if you are considering the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ, ask yourself if you want to study in a welcoming and passionate environment with cutting edge research opportunities. If your answer is yes, then make the move to Sheffield!
